Arkansas Family Coalition continues its efforts to inform lawmakers and local officials about the devastating consequences of alcohol misuse by sending educational cards highlighting issues such as alcohol and youth, suicide, addiction, and the need for responsible legislation. While we cannot know whether these efforts will change hearts and policies, we believe action is necessary to confront what we view as a growing alcohol crisis. Alcohol remains one of the nation’s most costly and widespread drug problems, creating enormous financial, social, and personal consequences that often exceed those caused by illegal drugs. The question is whether our leaders will recognize the reality of this crisis and consider solutions that protect communities rather than expand the influence of the alcohol industry.

The alcohol crisis continues to grow while too many remain silent. In Arkansas, expanding alcohol sales and industry influence have come at a significant cost, contributing to addiction, crime, impaired driving, family violence, and other social harms. The Arkansas Family Coalition is working to educate state legislators by providing facts about alcohol's impact and encouraging common-sense policies that protect families and communities. Meaningful change begins when citizens refuse to remain silent and choose to act.

The following is the second part of a two-part article (the first part was in the Summer 2025 newsletter) on the reason the people of Arkansas cannot have dry counties in spite of the fact that they have voted them dry. The will and vote of the people of Arkansas have been usurped by illegitimate laws, unelected bureaucrats, and city councils that seemingly could care less about what the people want whom they are elected to represent.

I am excited about the next year or two, and further out. We plan to expand our operations considerably. We are in the planning stages right now, so we will do a special letter later when we're ready to break out our new program.

I am running late with this newsletter so it will be somewhat short. Nevertheless, the information is important for the people of Arkansas, especially for those in dry counties who have tried to keep alcohol as far away from their communities as possible to avoid the carnage of alcohol use. I have possibly shared some of this information in past newsletters.

In my last newsletter I mentioned that we had plans to considerably expand our operations in the next year or two. We are excited and hopeful about this endeavor. We ask that you fervently pray for us about this undertaking.
